Route details
Our training consists of two stages.
Stage 1: mastering the theory. Before the start of practical classes, access to lecture notes (35 hours) and a test system for mastering the material is provided. Knowledge of the theory is the key to successful and effective training.
By the beginning of the practical classes, you will already know everything about the design of the vessel (what are the names of the rigging, the structure of a sailing yacht, how the yacht equipment works, and much more), what forces act on the yacht and sail during maneuvers. Also in the course of theory: fundamentals of hydrometeorology, radio, rules of navigation, personal safety and maritime law - all the knowledge necessary for a competent captain.
Stage 2: practice for 14 days — accommodation on a yacht. Of these: 10 days — training from 10:00 to 18:00, 3 days — training swimming, the last day — an exam. In total, you will record 200 miles in your logbook. The crew is no more than 5 people, an official training contract, an instructor's experience of more than 15 years.
In practice, we will work out the basic maneuvers under the engine and under sail, we will devote enough time to mooring, Man Overboard maneuver, navigation practice and radio conversations.
Our goal is to make you a competent and skilful skipper so that you can confidently charter a sailing yacht.
Result: After successfully passing the exams, obtaining the IYT Bareboat Skipper Sail license to operate a sailing yacht up to 24 m., with a distance of up to 20 miles from the shore + a VHF radio operator certificate.
