1 day. Arrival in Havana. Transfer to Cienfuegos
It is necessary to take a regular bus from the airport to the city. Take the bus to Cienfuegos. In Cienfuegos, come to the marina. (detailed instructions will be provided) Or by an organized transfer. The resort of Cienfuegos is called the pearl of the south of Cuba. The city is located on the Caribbean coast, 250 km from the Cuban capital. Cienfuegos was founded in 1819 by Frenchman Don Louis D'clouet, who invited 40 families from New Orleans, Philadelphia and French Bordeaux here. In 1850, a railway came to the city, connecting it with the capital, and pretty soon Cienfuegos became rich due to sugar cane plantations. It is believed that the French spirit still reigns here and there is even its own Notre Dame: a huge coral reef 6 meters high, stretching along the entire coast, which is very reminiscent of the famous French cathedral in its relief. One of the main attractions of the region is the Castillo de Hagua fortress, located at the entrance to the bay. The fortress was built in 1745 to protect the Caribbean Bay from pirates who raided these lands even before the city was founded here. Check-in on a catamaran. Purchase of products. Getting to know the rest of the participants of the trip. And maybe a 2-hour catamaran ride in the waters of Cienfuegos.
Day 2. Transfer to the island of Cayo Guano (Cayo Guano) - 54 miles
Kai Guano is a small rocky island in the middle of the ocean with a well-protected anchorage. This is the nearest possible stop for a yacht trip from Cienfuegos. It is a desolate and uninhabited island, measuring less than a mile in length. The ideal place to do nothing is just to lie under the coconut palms and swim with a mask and fins among the coral reefs. There is a lonely lighthouse on the island, the caretaker of which is always glad to see visitors. There are small fishing boats in the bay, the owners of which can buy the freshest fish and lobsters for a few pesos or a bottle of rum.
Day 3. Transfer to Cayo Largo Island - 35 miles
The marina on the island of Kai Largo is located in the very center of the Cuban archipelago. The island is only 28 km long and 3 km wide, but the entire southern coast is a communal beach with 20 km of the smallest white sand. There are no permanent residents on Kai Largo, except, of course, bright birds and iguanas. Cubans come to the island only to work in hotels. But there is a fantastic coral reef, an amazing Iguana island and a unique marine fauna reserve. You can also visit the sea turtle farm located near the marina and the crocodile farm.
Day 4. Rosario Island (17 miles)
After breakfast, departure to the Los Ballenatos coral barrier. After snorkeling at the beautiful reef, lunch on the yacht. During the day, swimming and water activities in the picturesque natural pools of the Quinto Canal. In the late afternoon, sailing to Rosario Island. Anchored near the Diego Pérez lighthouse. Cayo Rosario Island has an excellent location, which has influenced the growth of coral reefs. Among their thickets in the clear water you will see flocks of extremely beautiful fish.
Day 5. Iguana Island – Cayo Largo Island (12 miles)
Transfer to Largo Island after breakfast. "Long Island" is how the name Cayo Largo is translated from Spanish. The island, resembling the shape of a lizard from a bird's eye view, is located in the heart of the Caribbean Sea and belongs to the Canarreos archipelago, which is located along the southern coast of Cuba. The reefs of Cayo Largo are decorated with all kinds of Caribbean corals, gorgonias and sea sponges, and hiking around the island will reveal hundreds of diverse representatives of tropical fauna. Here you can see a wide variety of birds – from majestic flamingos and graceful grey herons to tiny swift hummingbirds. A motorboat ride to Iguana Island, a small island inhabited by hundreds of iguanas. Lunch at the anchorage and a visit to the “Hanging Gardens”, shopping and enjoying the sunset from the coastal bar. There is a completely untouched marine life on the island's beach, it is exciting to swim with a mask right from the shore, scratching your belly on the algae. Such stars are everywhere, including at the very edge of the water. It is difficult to convey the emotions of communicating with absolutely untouched nature - just an incredible delight.
