Training as a sailing yacht captain (Inshore Skipper ISSA)
Theoretical training
Time and place: classes are held from 19:30 to 22:00, 10 classes in total, at VO, 16 line, 7.
Class format: training is conducted in a specially equipped classroom with elements of practice, including rigging and working with navigation maps. Students are given tasks for independent study of the material, which allows them to effectively consolidate what they have learned. The course ends with a written exam. The course also includes a VHF operator training program.

Practical training
Time and place: Central Yacht Club, Petrovskaya Spit, 9; classes are held in May and June in the evenings on weekdays and in the afternoon on weekends. The duration of the course is 9 classes of 3 hours, an intensive course is also available: 7 classes of 4 hours per week. After completing the practical course, a four-day cruise along the Gulf of Finland is provided.
Class format: classes are held in groups of 4 people on modern cruising yachts specially equipped for educational purposes. During practical training, important skills are practiced:
Yacht control under the engine (maneuvering and mooring in the harbor)
Sailing (overstay turns, fordewind, saving a man overboard)

Qualification swimming (captain's practice)
Time and place: 4-day sailing along the northern coast of the Gulf of Finland, held from July to September. The voyage takes place in difficult navigational conditions among the islands of the northern Gulf of Finland, in the area between St. Petersburg and Vyborg.
Lesson format: each student becomes a full-fledged captain for one day. His responsibilities include:

This stage provides an important experience that allows students to consolidate theoretical and practical knowledge in the conditions of real sea navigation.
