Route description

The IYT Yachtmaster Offshore SAIL Practice in Turkey is an intensive course designed for experienced yachtsmen who want to confirm their sailing yacht management skills and obtain an international Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore license. The training is conducted in the most beautiful area of Marmaris, where participants practice the skills of navigation, yacht management and interaction with the crew in real sea conditions of the Aegean Sea.

The main features of the course
What is the IYT Yachtmaster license?
Types of licenses:
Yachtmaster Coastal SAIL (experience of at least 800 nautical miles).
Yachtmaster Offshore SAIL (experience of at least 2,000 nautical miles).
Features: The license allows you to travel 60 miles from shore, and for Offshore SAIL — up to 150 miles.
How is the training going?

Theoretical course (paid separately):

Format: 10 hours of online classes (evening, 2 weeks).
Suitable for both levels (Coastal and Offshore).
It ends with a theoretical exam.


The practical part:

Format: training in the waters of Marmaris.
Skills: mooring, working with an anchor, night crossings, crew management, navigation using maps and GPS.
Conditions:
For Coastal: 800 nautical miles, 30 days at sea, 2 days of skipper experience and 12 hours of night watches.
For Offshore: 2,000 nautical miles with similar requirements.

Practical exam:
Confirmation of knowledge and skills in real conditions.
