Route details
The International Regatta Brindisi-Corfu was founded in 1986. For the first two years, the competition is limited to Brindisi boats. However, since the third year we have seen the participation of ferocious boats from Corfu. Thanks to this participation, cooperation was born between the two shores of the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, which continues to this day.
Over the years, participation has expanded, on the one hand, to the whole of Puglia, and on the other, to the Greek coastal clubs of the Ionian Sea.
In 1995, the first boats from Serbia and Montenegro were spotted. Thanks to the awards received from year to year, the fame of the regatta spreads beyond Italy and Greece, which leads to an exponential increase in the number of participants.
With over 100 boats participating, the Brindisi– Corfu International Regatta is currently considered one of the most important regattas held in the Mediterranean and is undoubtedly the most important offshore regatta in the Adriatic, both in terms of the number of participants and the technical difficulties.
