Route description

The IYT Bareboat Skipper + VHF course is the basic training for cruise yacht skippers, allowing them to independently operate sailing and motor vessels up to 20 m in the waters of Europe, Asia and America. The training takes place in Marmaris, Fethiye in mini-groups with practice at sea.



Format and cost
Individual training, groups of 3-4 people
24 hours of theory and 48 hours of marine practice

Theory: 190€ (distance learning)
Practice: 1300€* (1500€ for a group of 3 people)


The training takes place in two stages:

Distance learning – online materials, webinars, consultations, yacht simulator.

Full–time classes and marine practice are a six-day intensive course with 48 hours of practical training, including mooring techniques, sailing and motor yacht management, anchoring, planning short crossings and emergency situations.
Licenses are issued on the last day of the course after successfully passing exams in theory, UHF communications and yacht management.
