Route description

The Palermo-Monte Carlo Regatta is a prestigious offshore sailing competition that annually connects the shores of Sicily and the Principality of Monaco.​

Date: August 19-24, 2025.​

Starting point: Mondello Bay, Palermo, Italy.​

Finish: Monaco.​

Distance: about 500 nautical miles through the Tyrrhenian and Ligurian Seas, including passage between the islands of Sardinia and Corsica.​

Organized by Circolo della Vela Sicilia in cooperation with the Yacht Club of Monaco and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.​

Key Features:

It is a difficult route that requires high skill and strategic planning from the crews.​

The participation of the world's leading yachtsmen, including Olympic champions and world record holders.​

Two main trophies:​

Angelo Randazzo Award for the best adjusted time score.

The Giuseppe Tasca d'Almerita prize for the best time on the course.​

Environmental initiative: the signing of the "Emerald Charter" (Charta Smeralda) is the commitment of the participants to comply with the principles of protecting the marine environment.​
