About the tour

YACHTING TRAINING
Do you love yachting as much as we do? The answer is straight ahead on your course! How do you catch the sea bug—not seasickness? How many knots of wind does it take to clear your head? How do you ride out a flat calm and a storm, then step ashore steady on your feet? When does it rock more: in the morning or in the evening? And, most importantly: what does the sea really taste like? Our experienced instructors will teach you everything they know, and our managers will share all the best tips for chartering yachts.

ISSA - International Sailing School Association
Our training follows the globally recognized ISSA — International Sailing School Association system, one of the oldest training systems for recreational sailors in the world. The association was founded in 1969 in Paris by the national sailing associations of France, England, Sweden, Poland, Italy, and Spain. ISSA licenses are recognized worldwide, rank among the leading certification systems, and allow you to charter a yacht for independent cruises or to take part in regattas. Our school standards let you take the course with native-speaking instructors using international maritime terminology. Licenses issued by our school authorize night navigation from the outset and do not require paid renewal a few years after issuance.

Inshore Skipper Course (coastal skipper)
Inshore Skipper is a bareboat skipper license that entitles you to operate a sail-motor vessel up to 24 meters in length, within 20 nautical miles of the nearest place of shelter, by day and by night. This is the most common license in the yachting community and, together with a VHF license, will let you charter yachts in virtually any corner of the world.

To obtain this license you will need:
- Complete a 30-hour theory course and pass the test. You can study in person, online, or via self-study with topic-by-topic assessments. With documented sea practice, you may sit the theory exam externally.

During the course you will master:
- Handling a yacht under power in confined spaces and in open water
- Stern-to and alongside mooring
- Taking over/returning the yacht (check-in/check-out)
- Preparing the yacht for a passage
- Conducting a crew safety briefing
- Working with paper/electronic charts and pilot books
- Navigation lights, marks, and sound signals
- International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea
- Passage planning
- Position fixing
- Anchoring
- Essential knots
- Working with running and standing rigging
- Sail handling
- Helming the yacht under sail
- Basics of meteorology
- Reading and applying weather forecasts from various sources
- Operating a VHF radio
- Making distress calls over VHF
- Using pyrotechnics in emergencies
- Man overboard recovery
- Organizing daily life on board

Tour itinerary

Marmaris is one of Turkey’s premier yachting hubs, located in the southwest of the country. Its sheltered bay and large Marmaris Marina welcome hundreds of vessels each season. The town blends a lively waterfront promenade, bustling bazaars, and cozy cafés with excellent marine infrastructure—groceries, repair services, laundries, and provisioning options are all easily accessible for sailors. Marmaris is an ideal starting point for sailing adventures across the Aegean Sea—to Göcek, Fethiye, Dalyan, and even the Greek island of Rhodes. The surrounding coast is dotted with dozens of secluded coves, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. With warm summers, moderate winds, and a well-developed charter industry, Marmaris is a great choice for both first-time skippers and experienced sailors alike.
