The IYT International Bareboat Skipper certificate allows you to charter a sailing vessel up to 24 meters and skipper a yacht during daylight hours within 20 miles of the coast.
The course combines theory and practice.
We don’t sit in classrooms; we run hands-on sessions—docking, sailing drills in various weather conditions (reefing, anchoring, mooring in bays, etc.). Theory is studied independently in the evenings according to assignments.
To maintain training quality, we take no more than 2 people at a time; couples can train together.
There’s enough time for both learning and relaxation, but training takes priority! Without proper effort, you won’t become a skipper.
Classes take place on board our training yacht Beneteau Clipper 41.1 with a classic mainsail. The yacht has Webasto heating and air conditioning. The fee includes the training course and accommodation on board (bed linen).
Two-week course for students with no prior experience.
We don’t form groups of 4–5 people—we teach in pairs. You get twice as much time to practice maneuvers as in 4-person groups (at almost the same cost).
Additional costs:
- Food on board and ashore. The crew covers the instructor’s meals. Fuel: from €250
- Certificates: IYT Bareboat Skipper + VHF certificate = €250
Flights and transfers are not included. You make your own way to the starting point. On request, we can arrange transfers and help book flights.
