About the tour

Loryma Cup — Turkey’s legendary offshore regatta
📅 May 2–8
📍 Marmaris → Datça → Marmaris

🌍 About the regatta

Loryma Cup is one of Turkey’s most beautiful and atmospheric offshore regattas. The course runs along the Mediterranean coast between Marmaris and the Datça Peninsula—where sea, mountains, and wind create ideal conditions for competitive yachting.

The regatta blends racing adrenaline, long passages, a spirit of adventure, and true maritime romance.

⛵ Format and race specifics

Loryma Cup is a series of extended offshore races with a total distance of up to 200 nautical miles.

You can expect:
- two full training days for starts, team coordination, and maneuvers;
- five days of racing, including long offshore and coastal courses;
- one “rest day” scheduled by the organizers after the longest leg.

This format makes the regatta especially rich:
the team covers real sea miles, crosses bays and open stretches, and works the wind and waves in a wide range of conditions.

Waypoints and detailed routing are announced by the organizers closer to the start—a tradition that adds intrigue.

Participants stay either on their yacht (fully at the team’s disposal) or in hotels at stopover points along the route.

This lets you combine the racing program with comfortable downtime and coastal exploration.

Like all major Turkish regattas, Loryma Cup is more than just racing.
It’s a full week of sport, travel, and connection:
- parties and prizegivings after race days,
- new friends from dozens of teams,
- beautiful marinas in Marmaris and secluded coves on the Datça Peninsula,
- a special offshore vibe when the crew settles into one rhythm on a long leg.

Ideal for:
- those who want to try long sea races,
- racers looking to feel true offshore distances,
- sailors of any level ready to join a crew and get involved.

Tour itinerary

Marmaris is one of Turkey’s premier yachting hubs, located in the southwest of the country. Its sheltered bay and large Marmaris Marina welcome hundreds of vessels each season. The town blends a lively waterfront promenade, bustling bazaars, and cozy cafés with excellent marine infrastructure—groceries, repair services, laundries, and provisioning options are all easily accessible for sailors. Marmaris is an ideal starting point for sailing adventures across the Aegean Sea—to Göcek, Fethiye, Dalyan, and even the Greek island of Rhodes. The surrounding coast is dotted with dozens of secluded coves, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. With warm summers, moderate winds, and a well-developed charter industry, Marmaris is a great choice for both first-time skippers and experienced sailors alike.
