Extended IYT Bareboat Skipper course on our own fleet in Montenegro
🚤 TRAINING ON OUR OWN FLEET
Our key advantage is our own training fleet. We’re independent of charter companies, never cancel practice due to small groups, and don’t postpone training. Our yachts are prepared by in-house technicians, and the instructor takes full responsibility for the process. It’s a 100% training environment where you can make mistakes, learn, and grow.
📚 EXTENDED INTERNATIONAL YACHT TRAINING (IYT): BAREBOAT SKIPPER
We’ve enhanced the standard IYT course with what truly matters to a skipper:
Increased navigation practice up to 400 nautical miles (instead of the standard 200), including offshore passages and navigation out of sight of land—without using electronic instruments
Includes night navigation
Study of modern onboard systems: integrated navigation suites, radar, communications, AIS
Hands-on practice with border and customs procedures when entering foreign ports
Exclusive proprietary manuals in addition to the standard IYT materials
Mandatory singlehanded practice of mooring alongside and stern-to
🧭 PRACTICAL PROGRAM
1. PART ONE
— Getting to know the yacht; theory sessions on board
— Sail handling and working with the rigging
— Boat handling under sail and engine
— Mooring and anchoring
— Daily onboard life and distribution of duties
2. PART TWO
— Sailing along the Montenegrin coast
— Practice in the roles of skipper, navigator, radio operator, helmsman, trimmer, and cook
— Rotating roles
— Calls into bays and ports; day and night navigation; practical application of COLREGs-72
3. PART THREE
— Offshore passage; watch system
— Navigation out of sight of land, including at night
— Exam preparation
— Theory and practical assessment
— Competency assessment and certificate issuance

About me
YACHTING SCHOOL
Over the past 17 years, our yachting school has trained more than 2,500 yacht captains from absolute beginners, who now successfully skipper yachts in every corner of the world’s oceans.
Our instructors have extensive hands-on experience and train yacht captains, as well as instructors and sailing enthusiasts. We offer theory courses in Moscow or remotely through a specially designed program, and the practical sessions, whose importance can hardly be overstated, take place in the most beautiful locations in Montenegro (basic course), Turkey, Italy, and the Canary Islands.
