Yachtmaster Offshore Course

The IYT Worldwide Yachtmaster Offshore certificate is a prestigious international qualification that entitles you to operate sailing and/or power vessels up to 24 meters in length up to 150 nautical miles offshore.

Theory:
Five days of classroom instruction covering:
- Navigation and passage planning.
- Safety on board.
- Meteorology and weather forecasting.
- Emergency management.

Practice:
Seven days at sea onboard a yacht, including:
- Docking/berthing maneuvers in challenging conditions.
- Accounting for tidal streams in navigation.
- Handling the yacht at night and in restricted visibility.
- Practical on-water exam.

Entry requirements:
- Minimum age: 18.
- Valid VHF Radio Operator certificate.
- Logged sea time: at least 800 nautical miles as Bareboat Skipper (BBS).
- STCW Basic Safety Training recommended (includes fire fighting, sea survival, first aid, personal safety).
