en:ar Yachtmaster courses are not for beginner yachtsmen.
This 7-day intensive course with accommodation on board includes tests and exams. Students are encouraged to devote sufficient time to self-study subjects, as well as to have a variety of practical experience in addition to what is taught in the course.
Minimum qualification requirements:
- 50 days and 3,000 miles at sea
- 30 hours of night crossings with watchkeeping
- The minimum qualification must be obtained before the qualification exam
- In order to register for the Yachtmaster course, candidates must describe their yachting experience in detail (and provide a logbook).
The final exam will be taken by a certified examiner of the relevant programs and is a detailed theoretical and practical test on board a yacht at sea. Students can be tested on any theoretical or practical issue of previously completed programs, as well as interviewed about their past yachting experience.
