One-way charters

One-way charter involves transporting yachts under their own power to a desired location. Typically, delivery is done non-stop, with rare stops for refueling, water, and provisions. The yacht operates day and night, with the crew taking shifts at the helm. If time allows, stops are made more frequently, turning the delivery into more of a cruise-like experience.

  • Renting cabins for participation in a one-way charter

Participating in a voyage can be interesting for someone who plans to purchase their own yacht and wants to experience long-distance trips firsthand to understand if this lifestyle suits them. It's better to rent a cabin and try going 'beyond the horizon' on someone else's yacht first, rather than buying your own yacht and suddenly realizing it's not for you.

Reasons for embarking on a one-way charter, sailor's logbook

Most often, graduates of yacht schools embark on one-way charters to accrue miles in their LogBook - a captain's personal journal that records where, when, and how much time they spent on a yacht. The experience of captains is measured in nautical miles traveled.

To gain experience and miles in their LogBook, sailors participate in one-way charters under the supervision of an experienced skipper. Novice sailors need miles to upgrade their licenses. To obtain the next level of license, a certain number of miles must be completed.
