About the tour

The Nuova Jolly Prince 38 Sport Cabin “Ethan Jo” is a rigid inflatable boat (RIB), nearly 12 metres long, designed for dynamic daytime outings. At the stern, there's a spacious lounge area with a canopy, while the bow is open and well-suited for disembarkation. Below deck, you'll find a small cabin with a bathroom, a rest area, and storage space. The boat remains stable in choppy waters, holds a steady course with ease, and is ideal for routes that include frequent stops along the shore.

All handling, navigation, and docking are managed entirely by the crew.

Suggested 8-Hour Route (Departure at 10:00 from Valletta Marina, Return by 18:00):

The first few nautical miles take you through the Grand Harbour - a historic port nestled between Valletta and the Three Cities, the old fortified heart of the harbour: Birgu, Bormla, and Senglea. The towering bastion walls, Fort St. Angelo, and the ancient stone piers appear almost within arm’s reach from the water. Passing through the narrow harbour mouth leads you into Marsamxett Bay and along the Sliema waterfront. The waters here are calmer, with the promenade lined with quaint cafés and yachts moored at the quays.

Next, the route heads north, skimming past St. Julian’s and Buġibba en route to St. Paul’s Bay. Just off the islets of St. Paul, it’s common to stop briefly for a swim. The water here is shallow, with a sandy seabed and remarkable clarity. From the shore, you can spot the monument to the apostle and the old fishing village nearby.

The journey continues toward Comino Island. The Blue Lagoon, nestled between Comino and Cominotto, is a shallow strait with brilliantly coloured water and a sandy bottom. Boats drop anchor here for swimming and snorkelling. Slightly west lies the Crystal Lagoon, enclosed by rocky cliffs and accessible only by water. It’s cleaner and quieter, with a clear view of the grottoes carved into the cliff face. Along the northern edge of the island are the Santa Marija caves - narrow, softly lit passages that small boats can enter.

After anchoring, the return voyage hugs the coastline back to Valletta, arriving by evening.
